Liability
Bodily injury and property damage liability help pay covered claims made by others when you are responsible for an accident, up to your selected limits. We help you evaluate limits beyond a comparison based only on price.
Liability addresses covered damage or injuries you cause to others. It does not repair your own vehicle. We explain the separate limits for each injured person, each accident, and damage to property.
Collision
Helps pay for covered damage to your vehicle from a collision, subject to your deductible and policy terms. We review deductible choices and any lender or lease requirements.
Compare the deductible with the vehicle’s value and your available savings. If your vehicle is declared a total loss, the settlement and any remaining loan balance are separate issues. Ask whether gap coverage is appropriate.
Comprehensive
Helps pay for certain losses other than collisions, such as theft, hail, fire, vandalism and flood, subject to policy terms and a deductible. This is distinct from collision coverage.
Texas hailstorms are a useful reason to compare this coverage carefully. Ask how glass damage, theft, and storm losses are handled, and whether any special equipment needs to be listed.
Uninsured / underinsured motorists
Can help when a driver responsible for the accident has no insurance or insufficient insurance. Injury and property damage protections, limits and deductibles depend on the coverage selected.
Discuss who is insured, how hit and run claims are handled, and what documentation is required. These protections serve a different purpose from liability coverage for damage you cause to others.
Personal injury protection & medical payments
These are different options for certain expenses resulting from an accident. We explain the available choices, who may be covered and how limits apply.
Personal injury protection can address eligible medical expenses and certain lost income, while medical payments focuses on eligible medical costs. We help you compare the benefits and selected limits without treating them as interchangeable.
Rental, roadside & how you use your car
Rental reimbursement and roadside assistance may be available as optional coverages. Delivery, rideshare, regular business use, youthful drivers and household drivers should be discussed before a loss.
Rental reimbursement usually has daily and total limits tied to an eligible claim. Roadside assistance has its own service limits. Neither should be assumed to cover every breakdown, vacation rental, or transportation expense.
